Life is Good at Gloria's VivaLaVida!
Especially since I won her 100 followers Give away! It's the first time I've won a giveaway! That is so exciting! I did win once, but I'm afraid the item never arrived. I could hardly decide which bangle to choose because Gloria paints so many varied colors and styles of bangles! Her etsy shop has a huge collection and they are not expensive at all!
Can you imagine trying to pick one? These were my favorites, but she had a lot more!
If you want a really stunning piece of jewelry, you should check out her shop. The one that I won was under $8.00 and is really large and gorgeous! Many of her bangles are reds, greens, and golds and very dramatic. Some are more quiet though. Mine goes well with tan, black, and denim which is why I chose it--that and the gorgeous detail!
Check out this beautiful picture she painted too...
Meet Gloria who answered these questions to receive the Life is Wonderful award...
Uh, have you ever wished you could be somewhere else when someone is talking to you? I know I have when I am not making sense of what is being said.
2. Can you whistle and if so, what is your fav whistle tune?
I used to be able to whistle good, now I'm lucky if I can even blow a balloon. If I were to whistle, it would be, "Whistle a Happy Tune."
3. If you could go anywhere and stay for a month, where would you go?
If I could go anywhere for a month, I think it would be to go to Spain. My Grandfather's parents and my Great Grandparents were from Spain. I would love to see the country, eat the food, and just see what life is like over there.

I rarely do things like this, but since Gloria is offering the award for free...I guess I'll take that too! And please, help yourself to this award. I'd love to read your answers!
Let's see...
1. Have you ever?
Have you ever hosted someone from another country in your home? We had Filippo, a college graduate exchange student from Italy, stay with us for six weeks and we made sure to take him grocery shopping so we could eat 'Italian' style. He taught us how to cook 'real' Italian food. He was so sweet and thoughtful..even making us a dessert while we were on a trip.It was very unusual! He spent an entire day making lasagna which we discovered did not include cheese or tomato sauce. He also showed us pictures from his many travels and played a mean game of chess with Tim several times. I thought no one could beat my hubby! We have a whole new perspective on life because of Filippo!
2. Can you whistle and if so, what is your fav whistle tune?
I cannot whistle even a single tiny bit!I've always thought it was because of the large gap between my two front teeth.(Someday, I'd like to get it fixed. :o) I wish I could whistle "Whistle While You Work" as sung by the seven dwarfs in Sleeping Beauty. :o)
3. If you could go anywhere and stay for a month, where would you go?
I would go straight to England--preferably in the country! But I would want to tour London too. I've read so many books on English decor, English history, and literature. I'm afraid that I'm a hopeless Anglophile!
4. Are your ears pierced?
Yes, but it was hard earned! I was always so busy creating things, playing music, drawing, playing in the trees and writing poetry that I could never remember to wash my face and ears. So mom made me a bargain--keep your face clean for six weeks and I'll let you get your ears pierced! I did! So Dad put ice on my ears to numb them, then put a bar of soap behind the lobe and jab, it was done. But I forgot about the clean face shortly afterward. My ear became infected which required one ear lobe to be lanced at the doctor's office. After that, I was meticulous--hence the clean face you see on my blog--Ha!
5. Can you do a cartwheel?
Sadly, like Gloria, I have never been able to do that and I get jealous when I see someone else doing it. :(((
I am so uncoordinated! I don't know how I ever learned to square dance!
6. Were you popular in high school?
Not at all, though I always felt bad that I couldn't make friends the way the popular kids did. As I got older, I didn't care as much though. I was one of those nerdy types who studied all the time just for fun, and made straight A's. I loved the challenge of studying difficult subjects, but that didn't come until college.I spent my spare time in class writing poetry. I did have a few very special friends whom I dearly loved. The best thing about college was finding out that people were impressed by those who applied themselves and worked hard, not by those who wore the right clothes and had lots of money. I love being appreciated for who I was and what I did! College and real world people changed my whole view on the world!
7. What is the last book you read, and did you like it?
I have been reading the Imitation of Christ and now I know why it is the second most popular book after the Bible. It has changed my life so dramatically that it feels as if I had a 'revival'. The second most recent book I have read is the Love Dare. That one has changed our whole family's outlook on how to truly treat each other with kindness. It's revolutionary!
8. What is the most embarrassing thing you have ever done, on purpose?
I can't tell you the most embarrassing thing I've ever done, but perhaps a close second will work. I had to stand up on the stage at a luau in Hawaii, because I was the only one who admitted I was a Grandma! The crazy thing is that almost everyone there was older than me! I was only 43 at the time and was there for the birth of my very first grandchild. The announcer made several jokes that I could have dispensed with and I think he said he wanted me to give him a kiss. But I told him my kisses were for my hubby...so Sorry..but no way!
9. Where does the white go when snow melts?
It soaks up into the ground..then seeps into the roots of crocuses and wildflowers that bloom on the mountainside in the spring...
10. Are you brave enough to answer these 10 questions, and why not?
Well...almost...if you count #8. :o)
Thanks so much, Gloria, for the award! I do hope that some of my dear friends, will take the award too and blog about it so I can get to know you better!
Happy Homemaking!
