Finding Hidden Splashes of Color

Winterberry Holly next to the patio

When I first went out for a walk around our property the other day, I honestly didn’t think that I would find anything to take a picture of. In fact, so many things were dead or dying, that I decided to do last week’s pictures of my weekly walk in sepia.

But I was so wrong! In the gray light of a dull winter afternoon, I didn’t realize just how many beautiful splashes of color were hiding amongst the weeds and bushes. I just had to know where to look….I found surprises everywhere!

Here are some day brighteners..just to remind us that spring will come again!

Mystery bush…

And I couldn’t figure out what you call this ornamental bush…Do you know what it is?
You can see more spring flowers on our property here and here.

I’m linking with Cottage Flora Thursday’s Linky party. If you’d like to see more pretty things growing…even in winter..then be sure to drop by. :o)

Luke 12:27 "Consider how the lilies grow.
They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you,
not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
