Sharing Our Prayer Needs (Add yours to my Linky List)

Thursday night, I was trying to explain, sheepishly, why I couldn't remember my friend Christi's name..or anyone else's who had helped on the banner at a get together for a friend. My brain was so groggy! (They all thought it was hilarious. Ha!)  I had gone through two nights in a row of four-five hours of sleep. Even though I napped during the day on Thursday. It just wasn't enough. Hence the brain-dead result.

It all started late Tuesday evening, when Tim, Christian, and I stayed up way too late watching Return of the Jedi (not the most intriguing movie in the world) and they were both on MY bed. (The widescreen TV was packed for the show so we were watching the one in our bedroom.)  So even though I knew that we should all be asleep at 1:30am, since we had to get up at 6:30am to go get the rental van, the men in the house just didn't get it that we women need our beauty sleep. Amazingly, Tim was full of energy and get go inspite of the lack of sleep. And Christian stayed comfy and warm in his bed, not being rousted until we got back at 8:30am to load.

But I was just dead tired. So you will notice, that although I downed lots of coffee and drove the two hour round trip to get the van for loading up the convention booth equipment with Dear Hubby, that I didn't exactly look lovely while helping them load everything.

But being the good wife that I am, I did help. Yep..He owes me BIG time! Time for a little shopping at the local antique shop. :o) Oh Yeah!  Thank goodness, Peavy Van Rental had a pot of coffee going when I got there--now that's hospitality.

Here you see us going through our annual ritual of loading up all the convention stuff which we  normally store in a huge closet (which is almost the size of a small room) in Tim's office on our land.
Doesn't my guy look so good??!!! He's so handsome!  (on the right)

When you take all the stuff out of those boxes and crates and put it all together, it looks like this. Pretty snazzy..Huh? My guys are headed off to Colorado for the annual SEG convention where most of the business for Tim's small company is generated for the year. It's very important and very fun!  (At least for those of us who tag along.)  Christian is the chosen child, this year, to get to make his 'senior' trip with Dad. (No--he's not a senior yet--just a sophomore.)

Actually, Jacob should have gone, but they had already traveled to debate nationals together in June, so he didn't feel the need to go. He spent half the year on the road and had a blast with me and his debate friends, skiing in Colorado, and having a great time. I can't blame him for opting out on this trip.  Perhaps he could go with Tim to San Antonio next year for the convention.

At any rate, Tim and Christian, who are two 'peas in a pod' both in appearance and personality, will have a great time. Apparently, they are off hiking this morning with the boss and wife as we speak. Video cams really are a great way to stay in touch. Tim and I visit every morning and evening and it's so nice! It worked just like I thought it would!

I pray a lot over this annual trip...for safety traveling there and back and for business...lots of it!  Our little company is doing SOooo much better these last few years which has helped us tremendously. We even got our truck with the bonus from last year. And we need a bonus this year too, for several expenses.

And BTW, if you could keep one of my dear son's and his wife in your prayers...I would so appreciate it. I spent many hours Wed. night just listening and talking and trying to advise him.... but he's in a dark place, one that many of us have experienced in our younger years. I was 'lost' for five years myself and I know that neither I nor my parents thought I would ever come back...but God was with me..even when I didn't particularly want him to be.   I know our Heavenly Father is there in that dark place with him...and with his young wife.  It makes me think of that scripture..

O LORD, you have examined me, and you know me.You alone know when I sit down and when I get up. You read my thoughts from far away. You watch me when I travel and when I rest. You are familiar with all my ways.
Even before there is a [single] word on my tongue, you know all about it, LORD.You are all around me-in front of me and in back of me. You lay your hand on me.Such knowledge is beyond my grasp. It is so high I cannot reach it.
Where can I go [to get away] from your Spirit? Where can I run [to get away] from you?If I go up to heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in hell, you are there. If I climb upward on the rays of the morning sun [or] land on the most distant shore of the sea where the sun sets, even there your hand would guide me and your right hand would hold on to me.
Psalm 139: 1-13

So safe traveling for Tim and Christian and guidance for my older son are my prayer requests for the week...
What about you? How can we be praying for you this next week?

I hope this doesn't seem odd, but as I was thinking of all the needs we had this week, and how heavy my heart was in particular for my son and his wife, I thought how I would ask you all to pray this Sunday, and then, just like that, I thought, "Wow, We could do a linky prayer list!" Then I was afraid it would seem strange. But Brent Rigg's is a pastor and the guy behind the Linky List tools and he had a special one just for prayer requests. That's just what I needed!

I don't know if we will get a lot of requests, but here is a linky list that you can print out once we get some entries. I put in my three just to get the ball rolling and show you how it is done.  I've never done this before (linky tools, yes--this kind,no).  You don't have to write a new post, though you can, or you can link to an old one if you like. Or if you don't have a post, just link to your website address.

I'd love to hear from you and be keeping your needs in front of me on my prayer list each morning.

Love and Prayers,
