My name is Donna Rodgers and I am the writer for Comin' Home. I love to quilt, sew, play guitar and write music. I especially love learn how to do new things and I love teach others what I've learned over the years on my blog. Click to listen to one of my songs "Like Me". I especially love learning how to master the textile arts of other countries.
Over the years, I've dabbled in French quilting 'boutis', Cuna Mola making, ceremonial Indian button blankets from the Pacific Northwest and recently, Persian knotted-rug tying.
My recent award winning art festival entry "Moonstones" used techniques from several countries--French boutis, Cuna Indian mola making, and American reverse applique. Not only that, but my hope and aim, at least on this website, is to encourage homemakers from all over the world in the time-honored art of making a lovely home.
Regardless of where you live, we all have to cook, clean, sew, care for our husbands and raise babies. How we do that certainly varies a great deal, but I think we all have so much to learn from each other--don't you!
I love learning how people from other countries make their homes..what foods they cook, and how they prepare them..what traditions they follow, and how they make their homes look and feel 'homey'.
To enter this exciting drawing, please leave a comment telling me more about yourself and your country--I'd love to hear all about you! Please leave an email address so I know where to send your prize. Leave a comment today for your chance to win!
Happy Homemaking!
Donna
